Let The Learning Begin

The library has partnered with the Ephrata Area School District to reach pre-kindergarten children who will be attending kindergarten the following year. The program is for children and their parents who are residents in the district. The sessions are held at the Ephrata Public Library. The program consists of free hands-on information sessions focused on giving parents resources and ideas to help their child prepare for kindergarten. Some of the skills focused on include:

  • Phonemic Awareness
  • Concepts of Print
  • Rhyming & Vocabulary
  • Comprehension & Retelling
  • Math & Reasoning
  • Reading Independently
  • Journal Writing

The program is led by Crystal Loose from the EASD. You can either attend the 2-3 p.m. or 6:30-7:30 p.m. time slot for each session. Babysitting will be provided for siblings.
