What is a reserve?
A reserve is a request to have a particular title held. If the item you are looking for is currently checked out to another patron, you can place a reserve so that when the item is returned it will be held for you. You can also reserve items available at other Lancaster County libraries, and have them sent to the Ephrata Public Library to be picked up.
What can I reserve?
You can reserve any library items, including books, DVDs, VHS tapes, audiobooks, and museum passes. The only items you cannot reserve are reference items or library use only materials.
How do I reserve an item?
You can reserve an item online or by filling out a reserve slip. Reserve slips are available at the Ephrata Public Library circulation desk. To reserve an item online, go to the online catalog and log onto your online account.
How will I be notified?
If the library has an email address listed in your patron account, you will receive an email notifying you that your item is ready to be picked up. If the library does not have your email address, you will receive a phone call notifying you that your item is ready to be picked up. You will have 7 business days to pick up your item.
